HEALTH NEWS: Public Health - Children's groups in health planning

Schools and children's groups will be asked how to improve children's health in a nationwide consultation led by the Department of Health.

The consultation will consider how to increase the amount of fruit and vegetables children eat, how to promote physical activity in children's daily lives, and how to decrease accidents.

Views will also be sought from the NHS, local government, industry, the media and individuals.

National task groups will look at specific areas including access to fruit and veg, food labelling, mental health and obesity.
