The conception rate in the unitary authority has fallen by 28.7 per centsince 1998. This represents 20 fewer girls conceiving. In 1998, 79 girlsfell pregnant but in 2005 this number fell to 59. Currently there arehealth drop-in sessions at all the youth clubs across the district.Information "credit" cards, which young people can carry around, havealso helped, providing useful information and telephone numbers. Thecouncil is keen to expand this.
