27.8 conceptions per 1,000 girls aged 15 to 17 in 1998 (46.6 in England)

- 19.6 conceptions per 1,000 girls aged 15 to 17 in 2004 (41.5 inEngland)

- 6.8% of live births weighed less than 2,500 grams in 2002 (7.7 percent in England)

- 0.8 average number of decayed, missing or filled teeth infive-year-olds in 2002/03 (1.47 in England)

The conception rate for teenagers in Wokingham has dropped by a rate of29.4 per cent since the teenage pregnancy strategy was launched. This isalmost double the 15 per cent reduction target set by the strategy,giving Wokingham the second lowest rate in England. The council creditsincreased training to youth counselling mentors, school nurses, teachersand governors.
