Nottingham's teenage pregnancy rate has remained among the highest in England. Irene Kakoullis, teenage pregnancy strategy manager for Nottingham City, said she was positive that there would be a reduction as the effects of the city's teenage pregnancy strategy, launched in 2000, were seen.

Key aspects include supporting parents of teenagers to talk to their children about relationships and work to increase self-esteem and aspirations with at-risk groups.
