Medway has a joint teenage pregnancy strategy with the rest of Kent. Thestrategy aims to halve the 1998 rate of teenage pregnancy by 2010 mainlyby improving access and awareness of services, increasing theaccessibility of contraception and improving the skills ofprofessionals. The strategy also says different approaches will be takenwith children in care or those from Black or ethnic minoritycommunities.
