- 7% of live births weighed less than 2,500 grams in 2002 (7.7 per centin England)

- 3.8 infant deaths under one week per 1,000 women in 2002 (5.2 inEngland)

Solihull has seen its low teenage pregnancy rate fall further since itimplemented its teenage pregnancy strategy, with a percentage change of21.9 per cent. This equates to 16 fewer conceptions.

In 1998, 146 15- to 17-year-old girls in Solihull conceived, while in2003, this fell to 130. However, Solihull's lowest rate was in 2001,when it fell to 30.9 per cent, or 121 conceptions.
