In the first two years of the teenage pregnancy strategy, Liverpool,which previously had one of the highest teenage pregnancy rates inEngland, cut its rate by 26.5 per cent. The council also runs acomprehensive programme of training for teachers, youth workers, socialworkers, and foster carers on the matter.
