Though Doncaster has a high teenage pregnancy rate, figures show it hasfallen in line with the national average, and it fell to as low as 60conceptions per 1,000 girls in 2001. Initiatives to tackle teenagepregnancy include the Pause programme, which is being undertaken by fivesecondary schools in Doncaster and promotes positive emotional andphysical aspects of relationships.
