I work with Unicef UK as a youth adviser. I lead children's rights roadshows around the UK, promoting the values of the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child so young people know they have rights and are empowered to effect change.

I am passionate about children's rights, advocacy and youth participation. I think it's important to involve young people in all aspects of society including decision-making.

I was recently selected to attend the J8 summit in Japan, which is a young person's version of the G8. Together, we wrote the Chitose Declaration, which gave world leaders our recommendations on how to tackle issues like climate change and poverty. We presented this to the G8 leaders, including Gordon Brown and George Bush.

The J8 showed me that young people do have a voice in world affairs and their opinions are vital in shaping our world. I would like to see more young people getting involved in their local and wider communities.
