My idea was chosen as one of 10 winners from a nationwide competition and the film was commissioned by Channel 4 and Mediabox, an organisation that offers grants for young people to produce films and other projects.
I was invited to London to do a workshop at Channel 4 on documentary filmmaking and it then took approximately six days to complete my film. I came third out of 10 finalists and travelled back to London for the awards ceremony, which was hosted by Russell Brand.
It was amazing to be involved in something that big and I am pleased to say it was a complete success. My film will be shown on Channel 4 later this year. I really enjoyed making the documentary and I would love to do a similar project in the future.
