Interim findings from the Review of children and young people, due to be released yesterday (Tuesday), show there is a need to reduce barriers that stop young people taking part in positive activities, to increase their involvement in planning, and improve participation rates.
It also highlights the need for activities that will help young people focus on the positive aspects of their future and steer them away from crime.
The study is one of a series of thematic reviews that will influence the Comprehensive Spending Review this summer, which will outline priorities for government spending on public services for the next 10 years.
