But over the next six months the youth sector will have the opportunity to make its case for government funds. This is because next summer the Government will publish its Comprehensive Spending Review, which will outline its spending priorities between 2008 and 2011.
The Treasury has asked all government departments to talk to the key representative organisations that they fund. For the youth sector, this means groups such as The National Youth Agency and the National Council for Voluntary Youth Services will have their say on the investment needed.
Exactly what they will say is open for debate at the moment, but here we find out some of the key areas that they plan to discuss.
