They will not just be there for the usual colourful street demonstrations and music concerts. They will go armed with ideas about how the powerful nations of Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Russia, the UK and the US can make the world a better place and, in particular, address climate change and tackle poverty in Africa.
Emma Kerridge, 14, believes the event will be a once in a lifetime opportunity.
"We are the future and, if we do our bit, we can change the world," she says. "We are all born on the same level, we are humans, and we should help other people."
