Funding Watch: Who's getting money and who's giving it - Grant for partnership 'beacons'

1 min read
The National Council of Voluntary Child Care Organisations will establish three "beacon" centres to demonstrate multi-disciplinary working in children's services, after winning government funding.

The organisation will get 27,000 from the Department of Health to help the three centres and promote open days to share their experiences.

Ian Vallender, the council's director of policy and information, said the aim was to show successful partnership working in practice.

"We're trying to show how the standards from the National Service Framework can be integrated into the aims of the Every Child Matters agenda," he said. "It is about demonstrating partnership working."

The year-long project work will build on the council's previous work around the National Service Framework and how it can be applied to children's centres, family centres and Sure Start programmes.
