The Time for Me project, which works with children in Dudley, gained themuch-needed funding from Mentor UK's Alcohol Misuse PreventionAwards.
A DVD made by young people supported by the Barnardo's-run projecthelped it win the community category.
Time For Me provides group activities and outings, advice on how to staysafe at home and personal counselling.
Children are referred to the project from local alcohol and drugservices for adults, social services or from the local community.
The project works across two areas of Dudley but hopes to expandthroughout the West Midlands.
Children from the project travelled to London to attend Mentor UK'saward ceremony.
