The cash will come from the Futurebuilders England investment fund,which supports voluntary organisations to deliver public services. AnneLongfield, 4Children's chief executive, said the deal was still beingfinalised and she was really excited about the project.
The charity already has a children's centre up and running in Essex andis working towards developing one in Leeds. Longfield said the aim wasto develop a network of high-quality centres catering for children frombirth to 16.
Futurebuilders chief executive Richard Gutch told Children Now that theinvestment package would be more than 3m. Half a million would bea grant and the rest in the form of a loan.
"The idea is that it will be a phased investment that won't all happenat once," he said.
