What is it? The National Youth Agency (NYA) Young Researcher Network offers grants for youth-led research projects on subjects that influence the lives of all young people. It is run by the NYA as part of its work with the Local Government Association.
How much is on offer? Two strands of funding are on offer: one for local authorities and one for organisations working with young people. There are eight grants in total: three grants of £3,000 for local authorities and five grants of £1,000 for youth sector organisations working in partnership with their local authority.
What will it fund? The money will fund research projects run by young people that investigate issues that affect young people and communities. Previous projects have researched volunteering, identity, disability and black and minority ethnic sexual health. Those awarded grants will also receive training and support from the NYA Young Researchers Network, as well as dedicated website pages and help with social media.
