Funding: Children in Need gives boost to youth projects

1 min read

The Women's Integrated Services Harrow (Wish) Centre received 105,827 from BBC Children in Need last week to fund the project, which is particularly targeted at self-harming young people who have also experienced domestic violence.

The programme will "fill a gap in one-to-one support for young people who secretly self-harm", said Rowena Jaber, centre director. "We are so excited to be able to offer the outreach services we have never had the capacity to before. Hopefully, it will save some lives in the process," she said.

The centre will offer appointment sessions, drop-ins and satellite sessions in schools and youth clubs. It already offers a selfhelp group for teenagers who self-harm.
