The grants were unveiled at an event in London showcasing Young Roots projects that helped to improve young people's sense of history. Culture minister David Lammy presented the funding at the event.
The largest of the four grants, worth 24,700, went to Shed 22 in London's Docklands, to help 20 young people create a web-based exhibition on the history of the area. Isle of Wight Council received 24,400 for a film project that will allow teenagers to document the island's history. The Depaul Trust was given 22,400 for a project where 24 homeless young people will explore the history of Gravesend.
