Every Child Matters: Raft of documents to support agenda

The Government has stepped up its drive to transform children's services by releasing a series of long-awaited documents and creating an online "resource and practice database".

The Department for Education and Skills has armed children'sprofessionals with 10 new documents to help them better implement thereforms in Every Child Matters.

It has published consultations on safeguarding children and promotingthe educational achievement of children in care.

It has responded to previous consultations on safeguarding children,children's trusts, the role of the director of children's services, theChildren and Young People's Plan, the new inspection framework andarrangements for joint area reviews. And it has put out guidance on leadprofessional good practice and multi-agency working.

Meanwhile, the resources and practice database provides furthermaterials to help professionals deliver the new agenda.
