Four personal advisers are in place to support the young people as part of the Raising Education Ethnic Minority Achievement Partnership programme.
They are based at education charity Learning Partnerships and funded through Connexions.
Only a quarter of Black young people in Leeds gain five or more A to C grades at GCSE, compared with 34 per cent for Pakistanis and 45 per cent for Whites.
The scheme coincides with an Ofsted report praising school initiatives that have boosted the performance of Bangladeshi pupils.
