Ministers are making a second attempt to overhaul the existingAnti-Bullying Network, which focuses on bullying in schools.
In its place they want to set up a new anti-bullying service with awider remit to address bullying in youth clubs and in the widercommunity as well as in the classroom. The education department haspledged funding of 350,000 per year for the new service.
A briefing note drawn up by the executive states: "We wish to expand anddevelop the reach of the service and we are now inviting interestedbodies to submit proposals to provide future anti-bullying services inScotland.
"The anti-bullying service will act as the main vehicle for the ScottishExecutive's anti-bullying activity, requiring ongoing liaison concerningthe presentation of its work and feedback to Scottish ministers."
