Better Futures, the provisional title for the scheme to be run by theScottish Association for Mental Health and Lesbian Gay Bisexual andTransgender Youth Scotland, plans to take the anti-bullying messagebeyond schools. The scheme has three years of Scottish Executivefunding.
Shona Neil, chief executive of the Scottish Association for MentalHealth, said that the group could put posters in nightclubs that hostyouth discos to make young people more aware of bullying as part of itsefforts. The scheme will also help organisations implement anti-bullyingpolicies.
The project replaces the executive's Anti-Bullying Network, which closedin June after its funding ended (Children Now, 13-19 September).
