Education: Monkeying around - Music activity session undergoesmakeover

Children from the Children's House Nursery in Stallingborough, North East Lincolnshire, try out a redesigned music activity session called Melody Monkey's Marvellous Music Box. The session, produced by the Humber Region Youth Music Action Zone, recently underwent a makeover and now includes a new songbook as well as training CDs to help nursery staff run sessions. The package also includes specially written stories and a variety of glove puppets. Cathryn Dew, National Centre for Early Music education manager, said: "There are many opportunities to use the puppets in creative ways, as well as lively action songs and one or two for more peaceful moments."
