Education: All of Children Act principles are vital

Local authorities see educational outcomes as more than just a focus on attainment measures, research has revealed.

A report from the National Foundation for Educational Research shows the extent to which local authorities have taken on board the Children's Act's five principles: being healthy, staying safe, enjoying and achieving, making a positive contribution, and economic wellbeing.

Anne Wilkin, the report's lead researcher, said: "There's a recognition that the other outcomes are vital components of educational achievement.
