Down at My Club - Pastures Youth Centre, Leytonstone, east London

Youth Work
I've been coming to the Pastures Youth Centre every Wednesday evening for about a year and a half. The club has a sports hall and lots of equipment, and for the first half hour we play sports such as football or badminton.

Then we have one-to-one sessions with a youth worker to talk about our next step in our Duke of Edinburgh programmes. I recently finished my bronze award, and we're going to start the silver in a couple of weeks.

As part of my bronze award, I volunteered as a young leader at my Scout group. I helped out with the Cubs and supervised games and we even made up some of our own.

At the moment we're thinking about starting up a newsletter for the youth centre. It would feature news about the youth group and activities that are coming up. We've also been on trips that the youth workers arranged for us. We went paintballing and to the theatre to see The 39 Steps.
