Down at my Club: Brighton Youth Centre, Brighton

Luke Frisby, 17, Brighton Youth Centre.

I've been attending the youth centre's Da Roof Skateboard Project for four years now. I was into skating anyway, and one of my friends introduced me to the project. It runs three days a week and I usually go to the Monday and Saturday sessions.

We go to a local indoor skate park to generally have fun and learn new tricks. It's more popular in the winter as it's somewhere warm and dry to go.

I also volunteer at the sessions and help people aged eight to 14 to skate. I help them up when they fall over and teach them tricks. I was presented with a silver Youth Achievement Award for my volunteering, and I'm halfway through working towards the gold award. It requires 50 hours of volunteering and more involvement in planning sessions. I'd like to start a "best tricks" competition, as we now have more ramps which make tricks more fun.
