A group of young women were asked to help set it up and run it, so that's how I became involved. It's nice to have a night just for girls as the youth centre can normally be very male-dominated. It definitely encourages young women to attend who wouldn't normally.
We have a PlayStation and we usually have karaoke game competitions. We sometimes have dance classes and we practise doing our hair and make-up. One of my favourite events was when we had a sleepover at the youth centre. We all stopped over and had lots of food and watched girly movies.
I'm now taking part in the Vtalent volunteering programme. Helping with the club has definitely given me a broad range of experiences already.
