Officials from the Treasury and the Department for Education and Skillsare planning a series of visits to local authorities, primary caretrusts and parent groups.
One model they're interested in is how parents of disabled children canget involved in training. Officials will ask parent activists whatthey're doing at a local level to improve services to see whetherthere's scope for replicating this elsewhere.
It follows the publication of the Chancellor's interim policy of reviewof children and young people, which will feed into the 2007Comprehensive Spending Review (see news story above).
Francine Bates, chief executive at Contact a Family, said: "The reportis very balanced because there's still work that they want to do,talking to services and parents. There's still a lot to play for andwe're still in a melting pot of ideas."
