Disability: Area agreements can help transitions

The hearing, part of the Government's policy review on children and young people's services, was one of a series focusing on services for disabled children and young people.

Les Lawrence, chair of the Local Government Association's Children and Young People Board, said local area agreements should be used as the basis for improvements to transition services for disabled young people.

A briefing for MPs, provided by a consortium of disability organisations, highlighted the need to improve disabled young people's access to mainstream services.

The evidence will feed into a report in October
