The National Association of Connexions Partnerships has changed the last word of its name to "partners", to reflect the dissolution of the partnership structure in an increasing number of areas and the growing variety of arrangements for delivery of Connexions services.
The association's executive director, Carolyn Caldwell, said: "We're widening membership in places where there is no longer a partnership."
Partnerships that have recently dissolved include Connexions Suffolk, which handed over assets last Wednesday to Suffolk County Council's children and young people's services directorate.
Management and delivery of Connexions services in Cambridgeshire and Peterborough was split between Cambridgeshire County Council and Peterborough City Council on 1 April. Some central functions, such as quality and training, are conducted by staff employed by Cambridgeshire County Council.
