Connexions covers England, but the MoD mainly wants to provide Connexions-style services overseas. Earlier this year, a consultant visited the British base in Cyprus to assess need.
Frank Cousins, chief youth and community officer of the British Forces Youth Service, said: "The chief executive of one of the English Connexions partnerships has undertaken a consultancy report. His recommendation was that there should be a Connexions-style approach to Forces youth work overseas. High-level discussions are currently taking place and it is under consideration."
British Forces Youth Services are split into UK and out-of-UK theatres in larger areas such as Germany, Cyprus, Northern Ireland and Gibraltar.
