At the beginning of March this year the documentary The Fear Factory was released. Can you explain what it is about?

The Fear Factory reveals the history, mechanics and extent of fear-mongering that has led to the UK's criminal justice crises. The film reveals how crime and the fear of crime have been used by politicians contrary to the public interest for the last 30 years. This is the fear factory - a machine that churns out more criminals with an astonishing success rate that gets better every year.

What changes do you hope to see in the manner in which youth crime is dealt with in this country?

The Fear Factory inspired a growing coalition - currently 58 member organisations - which campaigns on two main fronts.
