Last week, Young People Now's Children's Trusts for Young People conference in London considered just what this impact would mean for practitioners as well as looking at ways to practically engage young people in the delivery of services.
Kay Whyte-Bell, regional change adviser for the West Midlands at the Department for Education and Skills (DfES), kicked off the debate by outlining the Government's vision and by calling for youth professionals to unite. "Historically, we have had lots of people and agencies doing their own things, which has made it difficult for young people and their families to access services," she said. "Now the professions need to come together."
