"I started off participating in workshops like BBC Blast and that has given me the opportunity to work with other young people, recording my own music in a studio," she explained. "I also received a Diana, Princess of Wales Memorial Award for writing and producing inspiring material; I overcame a three-year ordeal of bullying."
In her keynote speech, youth minister Margaret Hodge laid out the strategies through which the Government hopes to help all young people realise their potential as Lhamea has done. "The children bill is now an Act, which gives us a legislative spine on which we can build that massive transformation of children's services," she said.
