The former education secretary is already chair of the Children'sWorkforce Development Council and pro-vice chancellor of SunderlandUniversity.
She said: "Society is at last facing up to the imperative of ensuringall children have a secure and caring childhood. NCB will continue toplay a leading role in taking forward that agenda."
Anne Sofer, chair of the NCB, praised the new president's "energy andgravitas".
Morris replaces Baroness Helena Kennedy QC who stood down in July afterseven years.
