The boards of Southend Borough Council, Essex County Council andThurrock Council have joined forces to come up with new procedures forall local children's professionals.
They are among the first in the country to fully update their policiesand procedures as required by the Department for Education andSkills.
Wendy Herd, lead member for children's services at Thurrock Council'said: "These joint procedures include agreements between all threeauthorities with regard to children and families moving acrossboundaries. This was not the case in previous procedures."
