A flagship 150,000 construction centre opened in Speke, south Liverpool, on 14 February.
Twenty-three young people are studying NVQs in construction at the centre, following the Foundations to Construction training programme. They are working on South Liverpool Housing (SLH) properties.
The programme has been developed by SLH and the Speke-Garston Education Action Zone, with cash coming from the European Social Fund and the Neighbourhood Renewal Fund.
