A consultation has been launched on the rationalisation of centralgovernment funding to voluntary and community sector groups.

Are they taking away our money then? Who? Money for what?

The Government. When they talk about "rationalisation" they really meanreduction of grant funding. That's probably unfair. And it would make itimpossible for the voluntary and community sector to play its intendedrole in the Every Child Matters programme. Important decisions have tobe made on issues like funding an infrastructure and ensuringsustainability of funding for projects that help statutory agenciesfulfil Children Act 2004 requirements. None of it will come cheap and itcan't all come from central government.
