Briefing: Crib sheet - Voluntary sector review

2 mins read
The Government is focusing on the voluntary and community sector from several angles including funding and accountability.

Your desk looks like a recycling bin. Consultations, consultations, consultations.

Sounds like a campaign slogan. Slip of the tongue. Nearly every paper that is issued by the Government will in some way affect the voluntary and community sector (VCS), so it's encouraging to see some that are devoted to discussions about its future. The Treasury has published its review of the sector, the Home Office is reviewing the government compact with the voluntary sector, and the National Council for Voluntary Organisations is consulting on what the sector considers to be the most important issues.

So there's lots of activity? Some might think it is all a paper exercise.
