Beach event: Youth agencies to stage music event

Youth Work
Connexions Creative, a partnership between a range of youth agencies in Yorkshire and the Humber, is to stage an open-air gig next month to showcase the musical talents of local young people.

The Soundwaves event will take place on 13 August at Bridlington's south beach and will feature performances from local bands. Young people aged 13 to 19 have also been asked to help organise activities and act as stewards on the day.

A bid has been put forward to the Arts Council to pay for a high-profile headline act.

Jackie Brewis, youth service manager for East Riding Council praised the young people involved for their enthusiasm.
