The Truth About Youth debate, which took place at Aston Villa Football Club, included discussions about consulting young people during decision-making, and positive relations with the police.
Representatives from BBC Midlands Today and Birmingham City Council attended the event, backed by youth empowerment charity Envision. Envision student Joanna Luckett, 17, said the debate had inspired her to "campaign for a youth page in our local newspaper - there are not enough facilities for young people and our voices need to be heard."
