It's a great way to start the week, with lots of games and laughs. But as the day progresses the laughter fades as the trainers point out how society often disables them with negative attitudes. We end the day by developing an action plan to take back to work. It won't sit on a shelf - as a Barnardo's children's rights service it's crucial that our service is accessible to all children.
Tuesday: I carry out a practice observation on our social work student. We're running a six-week project with Women's Aid for children affected by domestic violence and she leads the group on a session about examining feelings.
