I'm inspired as always by Jeremy Glover, chief executive of Bolton Girls and Lads Club, who's created an amazing facility for young people in his local area. My Place is to be welcomed, but it must avoid the creation of white elephants that young people don't use and ensure that the new facilities are financially sustainable.
Tuesday: Meet with Sir Jim Rose, who's leading the government's review of the primary curriculum. We're trying to persuade him that citizenship and enterprise education should be more prominent in primary schools. He has a difficult job on his hands to balance the competing demands on schools' time. Sir Jim is very engaging, but I suspect middle-class parents will prevent the more radical reform of schooling that we advocate.
