After more than a month of military-style planning and preparation, our summer programme is now well under way. It has been built around what young people have told us they would like to do during the holidays, rather than second guessing what they might be interested in. And, as a result, it's definitely the most diverse programme of events that we've ever put together.

Just a quick glance through our brochure and a number of "non-traditional" activities jump out at you. My favourites include a manicure and nail art afternoon and Southend's first RPG convention for young people. RPG apparently stands for role-play gaming, which, unless you hang out in Games Workshop every Saturday afternoon, probably still doesn't mean a lot to you.
