I'm off to another leaving party this week. It's time to say farewell to a colleague who works in social services. I've known him for years.
In fact, he used to be my boss when we both worked in health promotion, but he's ready for a new challenge. Southend will certainly miss him, especially the young people who have benefited from his hard work and commitment.
Looking back a couple of years it's striking how many people have changed jobs. We certainly live in a fast-moving world. And with so many opportunities on offer it looks like staying that way for quite a while yet. Those of you who read Young People Now from the back to front (and not just for Last Word) know exactly what I mean.
