I always think of my in-tray as like a lucky dip without the sawdust.
It's this place where the sublime follows the ridiculous. It's easy to see what emails are in your inbox from the short subject line. But the only way to see what's in your in-tray is to get stuck in and have a good rummage around. And this week it's been no different from most.
Exhibit one. Letter from a group of "juniors" (it's a great generic term isn't it; it just says it all in one word). They would like a PlayStation 2 and a new TV aerial please. It's a very nice letter signed by nine young people that no doubt will count towards someone's Youth Achievement Award.
