Exactly six months ago, we all finished writing our youth service plans and sent them off to the relevant regional Government offices.

If you're not sure what a youth service plan is then let me refresh your memory. It's a comprehensive operational and strategic plan that all statutory youth services were requested to develop as part of the Transforming Youth Work agenda.

And I've just finished updating ours. Which was no mean feat I can tell you.

Revising the plan takes you through a range of emotions. First, it's the surprise that you have already hit some of your targets without even really trying. Second, it's a feeling of happiness that you are on track to achieve most of your performance indicators by next March. Finally, it's the mild panic that sets in when you realise you haven't even started out yet in some areas of work.
