I'm in the middle of a small technological revolution. At home I've just "gone over" to broadband. And at work the IT people (think Neo from The Matrix in trainers) have just installed a brand new computer on my desk together with a printer that's only marginally smaller than a dishwasher.
So I'm all systems go. Everything seems to be running faster now thanks to all this new kit. I knew it was time for an upgrade; my computer was slowly grinding to a halt. It's only three or four years old. But imagine how many emails I've sent and received in that time. Or how many files I've downloaded. Or more worryingly, how many viruses I've dodged. Computers have completely changed the way we share ideas, communicate and create.
