I was at the civic centre the other night, propping a committee room door open and doing my best to welcome young people along to a special meeting we set up to enable them to give their views on this year's council budget.
It was an important event. Like many authorities, the budget next year is going to require some very difficult choices to be made. And this meeting was organised so that young people could have a say on what they think the budget priorities should be.
As I was closing the door, I saw a straggler coming up the stairs. Craig was out of breath from running to reach the centre in time for the meeting.
